Monteiro wants to stay at Spyker

Tiago Monteiro joined the Jordan Formula 1 team in 2005 and continued with the team when they changed into Midland F1. In his first two seasons, he has shown strong performances and he hopes to sign a new contract with the team under their new name of Spyker.

Monteiro said “We are currently negotiating with Spyker about a new contract but there are always many things to talk about before you can actually sign anything. We’ve also been contacted by some other teams but Spyker is for sure my priority at the moment.”

In two weeks time, Monteiro will be participating in his first rally race – Peugeot have invited him to race their ‘0’ car in the last rally of the Portuguese championship.
