Felipe Massa has spoken of his desire to stay at Ferrari in the wake of heightened speculation over his future.
Both Robert Kubica and Mark Webber would be hot favourites to replace the Brazilian, who has yet to find his best form this season. However, Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali made positive noises to the BBC this morning about Massa, and Massa took the first chance in Turkey to tell reporters that he wanted to stay.
We’ll wait a bit to see. I would like to stay here, definitely. It’s a place I love to work in. People respect me a lot, so it would be fantastic to carry on.”
Arriving at Istanbul Park, a track on which he has excelled in recent years, Massa said that he had no doubts in his own ability.
“I am very confident about my driving, about myself,” he said. “I know what I’m able to do. That’s why I’m working very hard with the team to bring the best all the time and try to improve certain points we need to improve.”
