Hamilton continued his stellar performance by finishing top of practice session 1 at Silverstone, just ahead of Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari. It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the young Brit though, spinning his MP4-22 early on in the session before taking a quick trip across the gravel at Priory. Soon after, Alonso followed the lead of his team mate and also had a mini detour across the gravel.
David Coulthard also tried out the gravel at Priory as he span his car and got stuck with yellow flags waved until his car was rescued. Towards the end of the session, Trulli also span his car, but this time on the exit of Club.
