Sebastian Vettel charged to his second pole position of the season setting a searing pace in qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver edged out championship leader Jenson Button by a tenth of a second posting a fastest time of 1:28.316.
Rubens Barrichello slotted in behind Button, crucially dropping Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber to fourth.
Fernando Alonso vaulted up to fifth place ahead of Jarno Trulli and the two Ferraris.
But it was another miserable qualifying session for Lewis Hamilton. For the second weekend in a row – and only the second time in his career – the McLaren driver was knocked out of Q1 despite two flying laps in clean air in the closing stages.
