Ex-Formula 1 driver Christian Klien has been called up for military service.
It seems that being an F1 driver does not make you immune from national service the 24 year old driver, who lives in Switzerland for tax purposes, sent officials a letter arguing that he was exempt from serving. Unfortunately officials did not agree with him and the former Red Bull driver has been informed that he must fulfil the six-month military service that all able-bodied Austrian young men are required to do.
