Jerez Testing – Day 2 Round-up

On the second day of testing at Jerez, Lewis Hamilton set the pace, topping the timesheets. It was the first time that the Brit had been behind the wheel of a McLaren since the end of the season and the session didn t go all his way in his first hour on-track, Hamilton managed a minor off-track excursion. He returned to the pits but no damage was done and he was able to continue.

Coulthard finished the day second, running on slick tyres. Pedro de la Rosa in the second McLaren was also on slick tyres and was fourth quickest. Felipe Massa on standard grooved tyres was third quickest, with team-mate Raikkonen a hundredth of a second behind him.

The session was marred by red flags Nick Heidfeld, running with slick tyres, caused a red flag when he stopped on-track. Sebastien Vettel, Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg also caused red flags to be waved throughout the day.
