Jerez set for another washout

Formula One’s third pre-season test looks set to  be disrupted by the weather once more, after teams failed to find another venue away from Jerez.

Last week’s four day event was hampered by heavy rain showers and this situation looks set to be replicated.

As a result, teams had attempted to find an alternate venue, only for both Valencia and Algarve to be ruled out due to logistical reasons.

“The [alternative] circuits are busy and the weather is too uncertain.” Sauber team manager Beat Zendher told ESPNF1.

Although bad weather will hamper all of the teams, with only two four-day events remaining before the season opener in Bahrain, on March 14, these delays could prove disastrous for Lotus and Virgin: with both requiring as much running as possible if they are to get closer to the pace.
