Honda’s B-spec RA107 car appears to be significantly faster and is now supposedly a full second faster than the other Honda powered team, Super Aguri.
The majority of teams chose to test at Silverstone last week however Honda decided to test at Jerez in south-west Spain, away from the media and rivals. Honda unofficially tested their ‘B’ car which features new front suspension and new wings. It is expected that the car will make it’s race debut at Magny-Cours.
Technical boss Shuhei Nakamoto explained, “With Super Aguri, we can compare not only our lap times but also the data, so we can better understand our strengths and weaknesses.”
The RA107 was only a fraction faster than Super Aguri’s SA07 – a car which is essentially a modified version of last season’s works Honda. However sources claim that the gap has now extended to about a second a lap.
