The Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi has confirmed that he is to be sponsored by Fiat for the next two years.
Fiat own 85% of Scuderia Ferrari, and last year, Rossi tested with them before deciding to stay on two wheels for the time being. “My future is just rumours and not linked with the sponsor,” Rossi said.
Because of the new sponsorship, Rossi’s team will now be named ‘Fiat Yamaha’. The 2007 MotoGP season kicks off this weekend in Qatar.
