Malaysian driver Fairuz Fauzy was back in a Formula 1 car today, testing for Spyker F1 at Santa Pod. Fauzy has not been in a Spyker since May when he helped the team with their aero development programme. In the meantime, Fauzy has been competing in the World Series by Renault his best race so far in the series was the last round at the Hungaroring where he achieved second place.
“It was great to be back in the F1 car,†Fauzy remarked. “We concentrated on aero development and control systems and had a very productive day. Santa Pod is not really a complete track, but it’s quite bumpy, fun and challenging to drive. We didn’t have any problems and it was nice to be able to get some more mileage in a Formula One car. I’m looking forward to getting some more time later in the season.â€
