Formula 1 teams are bracing themselves for a damp Malaysian Grand Prix this weekend. Last week’s Sepang tests were hit by rain and it expected that more showers and thunderstorms will grace the area this weekend.
Weather experts have predicted that on all three race weekend days, the mornings will be fairly fine with the rain striking in the afternoons. Saturday is predicted to be worst day although Sunday is also expected to be very wet.
Sepang boss Datuk Azmi has said, “We have to see how the field adapts to wet conditions.” BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld will be taking a cautious approach. “I’ve experienced some incredible downpours before in Sepang,” he explained. “Here, the rain is far from normal. When the heavens open, everything disappears under water in no time.”
