According to Nick Fry, Paul di Resta is the front runner for replacing Michael Schumacher should he need to be replaced.
Schumacher’s three-year contract with Mercedes expires at the end of the 2012 season and some believe that he may retire from the sport again. Di Resta has impressed many in the F1 paddock since his Formula One debut for Force Infia in 2011 having won DTM the previous year for Mercedes.
“Paul’s on our radar,” Fry told the Telegraph newspaper. “He has done a fantastic job, he’s a nice guy, he’s a great team player and he would be one of the drivers undoubtedly that, if Michael were to decide he didn’t want to continue, we would look at.
“We haven’t reached that time in our thinking yet, but we have all got a lot of admiration for Paul.”
