Ron Dennis has declared that he stands by his decision to give the second 2007 race seat to Lewis Hamilton instead of Pedro de la Rosa. He explained that de la Rosa was given a top opportunity in 2006 and that in 2007, they are giving it to Hamilton. Of the decision, Dennis explained, “The decision we made was not solely instinctual but also based on ability. We also did not want to park Lewis at another team because we have invested so much into him that we did not want spoiled by bad advice.”
