Dennis confident for Silverstone

McLarenMcLaren boss Ron Dennis is confident that his team’s performance at Magny-Cours was not a true representation. Ferrari appeared to have made massive improvements to their car, leading them to a one-two finish with Raikkonen and Massa with the McLaren’s seemingly unable to match the race pace of the scarlet-clad car.

However, Ron Dennis is confident that Ferrari do not have a speed advantage over McLaren and he believes McLaren will reassert their dominance at next weekend’s British Grand Prix.

“We flattered Ferrari,” Dennis remarked. “The cars had probably been improved a bit but we made them look a lot better than they were. I hope we will demonstrate that at Silverstone.”

Dennis is also not too worried about the Magny-Cours result. “If this is going to be our worst race then we’ll be comfortable,” he continued. “If we hadn’t had such good races before, we would not be where we are in the World championship. There is no reason we can’t win at Silverstone. Lewis did a really solid job at finishing third. It is his eighth podium position and there is no luck that gives you that sort of result.”
