Strong rumours are circulating that Pedro de la Rosa will be the first confirmed driver for new 2008 team, Prodrive. De la Rosa is currently a test driver for McLaren and is due to hear this week whether a race-seat has been saved for him at the British team.
De la Rosa would seem an obvious choice for Prodrive the new team are predicted to be a McLaren customer team in 2008, using a chassis built in Woking and a Mercedes-Benz V8 engine, however Prodrive have yet to confirm any details about their setup.
Other drivers who are believed to be in the running for a Prodrive seat are Gary Paffett (also currently a test driver with McLaren) and DTM driver Bruno Spengler.
It is expected that Prodrive will make their first official announcements over the state of the team during the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend.
