‘Controlled Exposure’ for Hamilton

McLarenMcLaren’s Ron Dennis has said that he intends to limit media access to Lewis Hamilton this season to ensure that Hamilton does not become distracted in his Formula 1 debut season. Dennis has said that he is aware there is a lot of hype surrounding the GP2 champion’s promotion to Formula 1 and so he is planning to use “controlled exposure” to help Hamilton with the pressure.

“We will make Lewis available but we will certainly limit one-on-one because they are so massively time-consuming and can be very intrusive and distracting for a young driver,” Dennis explained. “In some instances, it’s like the young driver being thrown to the wolves and certainly that isn’t going to happen.”
