I taught for some time about this... The thing that COULD make this season ultra-interessting is the progress of teams like Renault, Williams, Sauber, Force India and Torro Rosso, so, we COULD have a brilliant battle for 4th or 5th position, even the podium finnishes... It would be a great oportunity for sensations, and the battle for positions would be "brutal". Or, they COULD progress even more, and narrow their gap to the top teams... :cloud9:
What is your opinion on this subject?
Do you think it's even possible?

Thank you! ;)

I think you're right. Although testing never gives a clear image on how fast the teams actually are, I reckon the whole of the midfield will scrunch up and perhaps like you mentioned fight for podiums. I think they will closer to the overall pace of the leaders as I foresee that no team will be the outright fastest in 2011 like Red Bull were in 2010. This means that even some of the midfield teams will have a better chance of getting onto the front 2 rows of the grid and possibly even pole position. I mean look at what kind of innovative designs some of the midfield teams have come up with.

Toro Rosso with their double floor solution

Williams with their tight rear end :hehe:

And of course Lotus Renault with their front exiting exhausts

If these work well for them then it will be the top teams playing catch up for once in these specific areas and giving the midfield teams much more pace. For sure the midfield fight will be just as interesting to watch as the title fight.
