Beautiful and classic, does indeed remind me of the look of the old cars from the mid-90s. :)

I wonder if this change is because they feel rather confident about their new package? It's not up at the front, I don't think, but they have been innovative and stepping up to fifth in the championship may well be possible. :)

A homage to my all time favourite livery? Fine by me. I just hope the car has the pace to back it up. Things appear to be in decent shape so far... fingers crossed.

The car is beautiful. i love the blue and the way @ the back of the car how it decends into the PDVA colours. Awesome!

I agree, everyone likes a tight rear end. It's not just retro livery and good looks... :D

Sam Michael has labelled Williams’ FW33 as a ‘no holds barred’ car for the team, which is proud to be entering with a rear end lower than any other car on the grid. The livery of the Grove squad’s contender was revealed on Thursday, chiefly white as new Venezuelan sponsor PDVSA arrives.

“As you know there’s been a lot of regulation changes,” the Technical Director explained. “The aero concept for this car started in December 2009, the mechanical concepts three months later and this forms the backbone of the car. Everyone likes a tight rear end, so that’s what formed the design process of the FW33.

“The only thing that’s really free is the rear end, it took many months of development on the dyno. We really had to tear up papers from the past for the transmission and be ‘no holds barred’.

“We wanted to be the lowest right from the beginning. It’s the smallest and most compact rear end Williams have ever designed. The whole driving force behind the gearbox is to improve airflow to that rear wing, which will be a key differentiator for this year.

“The top suspension is a z-bone, all the suspension is high because you want to take away any intrusion from the lower part of the rear wing. The driveshaft angles are higher than anyone has ever done in Formula 1 before.

“We’ve taken a non-conventional view on F1 suspension design to achieve this and we’ve had no issues with transmission or rear suspension in testing, so the fundamental part of the car is right and that enables us to just concentrate on performance.

“Because you can’t do as much with the diffuser now, people have had to push more than in the past.”

I love the livery, and whilst it does look very like the mid 90's (1994-1997) 'Rothmans' livery, I'm surprised nobody's yet drawn a comparison with the early '80's Brabhams... to me it looks like a straight combination of the two! :) Either way, the design looks and sounds interesting - as with Renault, they've went in slightly a different direction than the majority of the teams and it could have positive or negative consequences.

I have a feeling the Williams could potentially be a much better car than in recent years in 2011, the question is - can the drivers take advantage?

Maybe Maldonado stepped into a much better car than anyone expected! or Barrichello's swan song.

The Willies looks good, but will it have the development hours behind it to maximise its potential, unlikely.

The McLaren is still the only airbrushed livery on the grid, all the other cars have stickers, nice! MP4/26 is painted by a true master craftsmen called 'Lusty'...

What will happen when he leaves? Now that's a question......

Well, the McLaren isn't completely airbrushed... I remember seeing the stickers peel off half way through a race.

What kind of parents name their kid after one of the seven deadly sins. Granted it is one of the more popular of the seven.
