Got these pics from a friend earlier, he actually hit 'black ice' and spun into a ditch but no harm was done. I believe the front is slowly moving south towards me since I'm only about 2hrs south of where these pics were taken.

Tomorrow there will be editorials across the state from the global warming deniers, basically pointing a finger and saying SEE!

About the Ferrari pics... let's me tell you, that's one car I would NOT want to be drivin in a snow storm, that thing has never seen all season tired in it's life I'm sure, let alone snow tires! Hope he made it home ok.

I believe he is getting close too home by now, he's has residences in Dallas and OKC. Thing is with Texas you never know what the weather will bring, heck were I live there was that snow to the north and also snow south of me but I do not think it's over yet.

It's snowing in Kansas as well; so I expect the schools to be closed tomorrow!

Tex; do they still shut down the cities in Texas when it snows?

Woke up this morning to three inches of snow on the ground; I forgotten how miserable it is to have to get up and go outside in the cold to brush all the snow off the car; not to mention ruining the nice clean carpets in my new car, should have bought some floor mats before it snowed; but I didn't so it's my own fault!!!

Crazy weather all round. Highway closed east of Calgary, and this in a country used to snow and well-equipped to deal with it, people dying of exposure in India, floods in Australia, European airports recently shut down for days. Climate change, certainly, but is this a natural cycle or a result of Man's impact?

We had really bad snow and ice around Glasgow in the 2 weeks leading up to Christmas - really really deep, easily 18 inches where I live, and up to circa 2 1/2 ft where my parents live. Crazy stuff. Then it melted leaving just the lovely ice to slip on... not much fun trying to get around on crutches...

As predicted; schools in Wichita and surrounding areas are closed today because a bit of windchill; last time I checked school was an indoor activity!

There are usually two main reasons why schools are closed: the buses can't drive in the snow (or it's deemed too dangerous), especially when snowplows have not been able to keep up in the morning.
The other consideration that school principals have are the kids waiting in the cold for the bus. They can't afford a lawsuit claiming that a son/daughter died of hypothermia while waiting for the school bus.

You're not driving around school bus stops are you? :yikes: While wearing a t-shirt that says; Strangers have the BEST candy. :yikes:
