Gotta love the "_ I don't know", why would you put I don't know; you'd have to be pretty stupid to not pick one of the other answers even if you didn't know!

Not sure if this is still true but in India, the driving test consisted of: accelerating to 30mph, taking a slight bend and coming to complete stop! :yikes:

So how many times did you have to take the test before you passed it?

What you trying to say?

I passed a British driving test which is much, much harder than the US test, you have to perform an emergency stop, reversing around corner and parallel parking, none of which I had to do on my US test; I basically drove around the block, the only reversing I had to do was out of the parking space at the test centre!

My question to the examiner was "is that it?"

Yup, US driving tests are a joke. The more amazing thus that the accident rate is not that high... Except in Chinatown :P

Actually all the test you listed Jason I had to do for my driving exam it's just that things are different now and I do not know why as they should be more strict.

My wife has a theory about that; she thinks that the driving test is easy so there are more drivers on the road, more road tax for the government and more business for insurance companies, money makes the world go round. Here in Kansas, drivers are pretty poor; it's rare that I go out in the car and not be held up by some accident!

You know it was a joke! I would never question your driving prowess... two things a man would never admit to being "bad" at is driving and umpalumpa.

My daughter is currently practicing with her driver's permit, the driver's test is in March. We had a small dusting of snow here a few days ago and I took her to an empty parking lot and forced her to induce the car into a spin and try and save it. I read somewhere that in Finland their driving tests includes slalom driving in the wet and other such tests... it's no wonder they produce more F1 drivers per capita than any other country!

Yes I know it was a joke, no worries mate! I don't profess to be the worlds best driver but judging by the standard of driving in Kansas, I may be the best in Kansas! :hehe:

The driving tests in any state/country should reflect the driving conditions, which is why I'm amazed the test here in Kansas isn't more strict given the extreme weather conditions that Kansas is subject to; tornadoes, heavy rain and snow, ice storms and extreme heat! I'm interested to see how my new SUV copes with snow, it doesn't do very well in freezing rain conditions, the TC is useless, forever coming on with minimal acceleration, often taking upto a minute to get upto 30mph!

It would be nice if I could hear anything from the engine, the insulation is so good, even when foot flat to the floor it's silent. :( A complete tangent to the subject matter but I believe that all cars above 150bhp should be rear wheel or four wheel drive, steering and drive in the same wheels is a bad idea in icy or snowy conditions.
