"I shouldn't have had to say anything," Todt said this week. "We had agreed beforehand that if he [Barrichello] is in front after the pitstop, he was to let Schumacher pass without making a fuss. It was agreed, and drivers are paid to accept certain decisions. But he made me call him 50 times and he moved at the last corner - the audience booed, Schumacher gave him first place on the podium and Ferrari was fined $500,000 for violating protocol."

What a primadonna move by RB  Throwing a fit against your employer in such a public and petulant way: good thing you were fired because you cost Ferrari and the entire F1 way too much. :banghead:

I don't care - I've lost what little respect I had left for him.
Quite telling what Frank Williams had to say about him a few weeks back: something about having to mollycoddle him

If this is true then for me it DOES take some load off Jean Todt. F1 still is a team sport and probably Rubens accepted this before the race and then lost his head when he came out in front after pitstops

Its the same thing Massa did in Germany. Make something look uglier, despite having already agreed on it :irked:

Not quite the same thing - it all started with RB throwing his toys out of the pram in 2002, with all the consequences that followed, poisoning the water and making it much more difficult for teams to play out their team strategy because the media and the public were watching for any team moves and were ready to pounce because of RB's antics. So, FM's situation was quite different in a different environment and he didn't wait more than a lap and he was 'told' only once (or reminded of his duties agreed to beforehand if the situation was such and such...). Without RB's theatrics, FM's move would have gone more or less unnoticed, classified as team strategy, team racing decision that is part of F1 and would have been acknowledged with a shrug, to be expected in a team sport.

Nope, it was about RB - I remember thinking: yeah, you little primadonna, you need your inflated ego stroked or you start whining again.

I read somewhere..... that the message for Massa we heard was not the first one. I think they also had to tell him a few times, and that lead to the 'coded message'. But yeah... the theatrics did ruin and gave way to the media mess.

We know how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Back to.............. the 1930's?

There was really no point in the move , Schumacher had the title sewn up all too easily that year.

2001 I can understand because at one point Cubehead did look quite a threat.
