Soft spoken, doesn't like to cause a fuss, Heidfelds always been the quite guy in the corner, I personnally have always thought that like Button he gets in a car and gets the maximum amount of points that car can get, Maybe a Schuemacher ( NOT ralf!!!) or a Kimi can push beyond the car but Heidfeld is more than capable of winning a championship in a fast car. This years BMW might not be that car, but it's not far off, see constant point scoring from the little German ( A lucky win???).

And he has integrity on the track unlike some Germans RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT!!!!!! red devil!!!

Solid race today and in Aussie, that car looks solid but not in Kubica's case. Woeful problems and hasn't scored a point since his amazing podium in Monza.

Watching Heidfeld's performances in the BMW reminds me of Frentzen in the Jordan in 1999, through constant points finishes, he managed to put himself in contention for the Championship when Hakkinen and Coulthard broke down so often, Irvine was chasing the title thanks to Schumi's broken leg.

Kubica's not had much luck so far with his mechanical breakdowns, plus he has a tendancy to run off the track a fair bit, but I'm sure his time will come.

I'm convinced Heidfeld is able to get the title. He maybe is the underdog but that isn't always bad. I think he'll score a lot of podiums.

I agree, he's had some decisions go the wrong way for him, and he's had a load of bad luck away from the track too...like running into cars on his bike etc.

One thing's for sure: I'm glad to see the BMW moving up the field, albeit slower than I'd like.

Well Heidfeld is now only 2 points behind Massa after 3 races.

Heidfeld has had an awesome season no doubt about it, and i hope those rumours of a move to Toyota are false - he'd be wasted there.

I think the talk of Toyota is just him and his agent trying to force BMW into signing a contract ASAP, can't see BMW falling for it though.

As for Heidfeld himself, I think he's a bit like Coulthard, he gets into a comfort zone when not pushed and when given a kick up the arse (the arrival of Kubica, the renewing of his contract) he suddenly finds a lot more speed in the car, and becomes more 'racy'. Yes, he has the ability and speed to push for a title, but only when he wakes up and realises that he needs to be consistently fast, rather than just just plodding along where he thinks the car should finish.

I don't know why Heidfeld would want to go to such a stagnant team like Toyota's works team.
