Personally, I think Rosberg is somewhat underrated and Vettel is incredibly overrated.

Vettel is fast, with Rosberg I find it hard to tell. His cars have never been good enough to compete with the best and his team mates have never been good enough to compete with him. Nakajima was diabolical and Schumacher, as good as he once was, is a relative geriatric. But even with a decent car and good competition, I don't think he'll be one of the fastest on the grid. He's fast but not that fast.

But speed isn't everything, unless you're Vettel :P

Vettel is inconsistent, if this year has shown me anything then it's that. He's a hot head and he's immature and, as a result, he makes mistakes. Rosberg is proving himself to be the opposite, at least this season. He's had three podiums this year, so with a better car he could definitely be competing for race wins.

I think it's impossible to tell who is better than who when everyone has a different car and a different team mate. I'd say Vettel is more flashy and that usally engenders more hype and conversely, more derision. That doesn't mean he's a better talent.

Right now, Vettel is the outright faster driver but Rosberg is the far more complete one i reckon. Potentially Vettel could be better than Rosberg, but that remains to be seen.

I never used to rate Rosberg that much; always putting the blame on the Williams team for his poor performances rather than helping the team to perform better. But I have changed my opinion since joining Mercedes; he has comprehensively beaten a seven times world champion and claimed a number of podiums in a car that shouldn't really be on the podium. It's hard to call it between Vettel and Rosberg but it would certainly be interesting if both drivers were in a Red Bull, I think Rosberg's maturity will win out over Vettel over the time frame of a F1 season at this time, Vettel is too impetuous often being his own worst enemy!

Can't decide. Vettel makes his car go very, very quick. Rosberg (usually) makes his car go to the finish. Hare and Tortoise, although a very quick tortoise. I'd have to reserve judgment until I see them in the same machinery, which isn't likely.

Too many variables to make a direct comparison, all we can say is that Rosberg has not left a wake of broken body parts behind him this year, and Vettel clearly has had a superior car the last two seasons.

Cannot vote for the simple reason of the two cars potential. Vettel has huge potential and a very promising career ahead but his chassis is the class of the field 99% of the time. Look at Nico as he has out performed Michael whom I consider to be in the top 5 of greatest drivers ever and wasn't he being written off as a 'N.Piquet' type driver the last few years  ? I think Nico's racecraft/mentality is due to his feedback from dear old dad Keke and we are starting to witness his maturity while on the other hand Seb is/has been his own manager and possibly it weighs heavily on many points/area's ???

Basically imho we are witnessing two great talents that imho I feel honored to witness firsthand, the tide is turning  .

Even though my previous post agrees with your comments, You make an interesting point about the management that I hadn't even considered and it probably has quite a bit to do with it.

I never even considered that frankly but now that you have brought it to light I can see what your saying. From the media and what was/has been witnessed on the telly Nelson Sr is/was much more berating and less supportive than Keke has been. It is easier to find fault than it is to find praise :( .

I'd say Rosberg is most like Jenson as a driver.
Not the quickest, but his racecraft and consistency make up for his lack of one-lap pace.
Saying that, he's not a bad qualifier either

I think if Rosberg was in the Redbull this season he'd be at the top of the championship, but Vettel would still have all of his poles. Vettels one lap pace is one of the best.

I think Vettel is a bigger talent.
Does that add up to the better driver overall... i dont know.

But one thing Nico lacks is the drive Vettel (and guys like Kubica, Alonso, Hamilton) have. Nico is perfectly able to pull drives like Massa did in Spa recently. Keep it there... hang on... oops so the guys in front of me crashed, haha suckers! now a couple more laps.... and there you go, that's P4. yay. (BTW i dont mean that's what Massa DOES, just thats what his drive was like in Spa).

Vettel goes for it, and only needs to smooth his rough edges. IF he manages to... he'll be a much better driver than Rosberg will get to be.
