Man, this keeps getting more and more interesting. No driver can fall asleep (well, maybe HRT drivers). This new points system is really making the drivers go for it. Not only because of the huge difference the first places make, but also extending points all the way down to 10th place has given us good fights in the middle of the field.

Personally I love the new points system, it was proposed by FOTA a couple of years back but Max Mosley rejected the idea, we could have had this kind of championship battle a few years ago if Max Mosley could retrieve his head from his own arse!

I didn't know that Hamilton was leading the championship last year before Monza! :)

Interesting that Hamilton would have been 4 points ahead under last year's scoring system and is only 3 ahead under this year's higher points system.

No man...this is how many points Hamilton(and the other drivers) would have this year if the scoring system were like it was last year.

Actually, I'm not seeing any significant changes...
the problem is that this new system will ruin the records the drivers achieved in the past.

I believe that English isn't Bruno's first language, I think the sarcasm got lost in translation! :)

Agree 100%, it's very interesting and exciting. I think F1 is perfect now this season, they don't need to tinker with it any longer. Once more, the point system is a resounding success and the championship itself is a resounding success

I don`t see a too big difference wtih the points systems.
As we sawm the gaos can be just as fast beain reduced this year as last year, its just this year they`re bigger than with 09 system.
It`s close this season with or without this new system and its exciting because its simply close, it would still be with the 09 system, so its all ok.

It seems the championship would be more tight with 2009 points system.
