Renault sure looked strong in Spa with Kubica's with his 3rd podium of the season and Renault looking prominent throughout the practice and qualifying stages. Both Mercedes' drivers finished strongly or should I say stronger than of late in the points, but they still keep on telling us that they have finished 2010 and are focussing on 2011. Do you reckon Renault be able to overtake Mercedes for 4th spot in the WCC?

Not sure about the WCC, but I think the will finish 4th best team (in terms of raw pace). But surely Renault are focusing on next year soon as well? They've done a good job, good stable team management and those aero guys they've resigned have proven their worth.

I can see Renault overhauling Mercedes as mentioned above; Mercedes have already abandoned development of their 2010 car while Renault are pushing ahead with development in 2010; If Kubica keeps on doing what he's doing and Petrov can finish in the top eight consistently, Renault should be ahead of Mercedes by seasons end!

Yes, it's really down to Petrov. Kubica is matching Rosberg but even if Merc drop their 2010 development while Renault push on they will only snatch 4th if Petrov can up his game. Here's hoping he, and they, can do it!

Referencing another thread, I can see Renault (the car company) buying back in if this happens.

Personally I'd rather see Renault (race team) stay independent of the manufacturer; I don't understand why they'd want to buy in again; they are getting their publicity without the massive financial outlay to run an F1 team, I always preferred Renault as a engine supplier, I'm still hope that Williams strike a deal with Renault to supply engines!

That's actually kinda curious: the yellow team still runs under the name Renault...

Seemingly, Renault is a disciple of the sell low buy high type of investing.

Kubica better hope he can get past rosberg tomorrow and schumacher does not get any points. Petrov is still under investiagtion from the stewards for blocking timo glock.

I'm not a fan of Petrov, but there's a pointless investigation by the stewards.

They might be able to do it - it's a weird one though, because Mercedes are so ridiculously inconsistent!
