FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The FIA has decided to open a new selection process to identify a candidate team to fill any vacancy that may exist in the FIA Formula One World Championship at the start of the 2011 season. The FIA may also identify one or more possible ‘reserve’ entrants to fill such vacancies.

This selection process will be open to all candidates capable of participating in the Championship for 2011 and 2012. The overall long-term interests of the Championship will determine which candidates are selected.

The precise terms of this selection process, together with the applicable selection criteria, deadlines, legal requirements and other conditions, will be communicated to candidates who have registered a formal expression of interest with the FIA’s Secretariat before 5pm CET Thursday 15th April 2010, together with an administration fee of €1,000. The application process will commence at that time with those who have registered an expression of interest before this deadline (late applicants will be admitted only at the FIA’s discretion). This fee is non-refundable, although it will be offset against the application fee, which the FIA will require from those submitting full applications.

All applicants will be expected to undergo thorough due diligence. By way of indication only, the applicable selection criteria will include:

(a) the technical ability and resources of the team;
(b) the ability of the team to raise and maintain sufficient funding to allow participation;
(c) the team’s experience and human resources;
(d) the FIA’s assessment of the value that the candidate may bring to the Championship as a whole.

The timing of this process will depend on the candidates’ responses. However, by way of indication only, the FIA anticipates that full applications will need to be submitted by the end of June, followed by due diligence leading to a decision in July 2010.

Come on i'm sure if we all chipped in we could easily gather 1000 Euros. Even just to enter to annoy the powers-that-be.

Besides Ewan GP is quite exotic... like Stefan GP or Brawn haha!

EDIT: I mean if we aim for a team between Stefan GP and Brawn. One that is mid-to-low field and makes the grid... We can have Rubens in one car and JV in the other. Fair balance. Need a decent paint job though. None of that Brawn marker pen crap

Could imagine Forumula1.com GP, Blatant advertising and done for the hell of it! Could get Uni students and Top Gear involved ... Ooh, The Stig driving for us.

It sounds like a very good system, atleast it proves that the FIA are finally getting organised, its a shame it does not show on the track in the teams personal interest? Like we should have ideally had Stefan GP @ the Bahrain, they had the money and drivers all the set up? That means they had the technoligy and so forth. So why we didn't give them a shot is beyond me personally. But congrats to FIA, finally thwere being responsible

The FIA, in their right mind, should not be accepting new teams into this sport. If they are just going to leave them for dead like these last teams, then what's the point?

In the past I'm sure they would've offered to help a new team to set up, not just take their money and let 'em burn. Particularly, what's the use of setting up new teams when there is a ban on testing!? Next year are we going to have another HRT?

Until they fix up this system no new team should register.

I like the fact that there is a fee to express interest, it stops any tom sausage or harry wanting a team. well it just stopped me from applying. I suppose if you can not raise 1k then your either called USF1 or you are not really behind the project.
