Last year, I rescued over $90 million worth of artworks and artefacts. That’s rescued, not stole. It’s a very important distinction.

But maybe I should back up a bit.

I’m lucky. My work lets me travel the world, drive fast cars, visit the homes and palaces of famous and powerful people… it’s awesome and I don’t take it for granted for a second.

But I also can’t resist a challenge. Near the start of last year, I was invited to a party through work, hosted by a European aristocrat I won’t name here. I mentioned the invitation to a friend who runs a gallery and she said that the nameless prince was rumoured to be involved in some dodgy art dealings. Unfortunately, she’d never been able to blag her way into his high-security home to find out the truth.

Me, I strolled past security on a red carpet. Five hours later I walked out - sweating more than a little, I admit - with a recovered Warhol print shoved inside my tux and my eyes open to the ways of the world.

The print’s now back in a museum, but the whole experience made me realise I could use my position to do something worthwhile.

I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a rush as well. Just thinking about each heist gave my training real focus. I suddenly felt more motivated and excited, even after hours in the gym. Training needs to have a purpose. And I’d found mine.

Since that first job, the operation has got a lot more sophisticated. I’m what you might call the ‘front man’ but it’s a real team effort now. Anna, she arranges everything. Joe trains my body and mind. Lenny, he’s - well, Lenny doesn’t do much but he has his uses.

And then there’s you. That’s right - the world is just too big for the four of us to sort out. I’ve had too many close calls. We need help. We need you - seeing what we can’t see, hearing what we can’t hear. The vital last member of the team.

Think you’re up to it?

I know you are!

F1's answer to the A-Team.

LEWIS HAMILTON

You might know a bit about me already. While the driver of a car is always important, I know that I wouldn’t achieve anything without a great team behind me. It’s the same off the track too – that’s why I work with Anna, Lenny and Joe...
ANNA CHAO

I’ve handed over all the logistics to Anna - the easiest decision I’ve ever had to make. She’s supremely focused, a genius with technology and fluent in a dozen languages (some of which I’d never even heard of). I’m glad she doesn’t drive because I bet she’d be awesome at that too.

When I think back to what it was like trying to do this without her, it's scary. It’s like we were totally trusting to luck: ‘We’ll do this and see what happens.’ I don’t know how I got away with it. Anna really knows what she’s doing.

As a part of our team, you’ll be working closely with Anna to discover who’s stolen what, where it is now, and how to get me in there and out again in one piece. She’ll be updating this website regularly.

I trust Anna 100% and I need to trust you too so I’ve told her to be tough on you - something she has no problem with at all. It’s for the best, you’ll see.
LENNY ROSE

Lenny used to be a professional lookalike, until I realised he’d be more use working for me. Being in two places at once can be very handy sometimes. He’s fooled my family, he’s fooled my friends. He’s my secret weapon.

He does like a night on the town, which could play havoc with my reputation if I let him have his way. He may be scared of hard work, and his manners may leave something to be desired, but dammit, he’s one handsome cat.

TRAINER JOE

My usual training programme for the season is pretty tough and I do a lot of cardio and core stability work. But sometimes I need to train for something out of the ordinary. That’s where Joe comes in. If I need to pull off a crux move to scale a building, I go to Joe. If I need to work on my breathing – Joe. He knows parkour, yoga, calisthenics, free climbing – whatever it takes. The man has serious skills. He gives great advice on everyday training too, so I’ll try to share whatever tips he gives me.

No-one messes with Joe. He has a tattoo that says ‘Pain is weakness leaving the body’ – in BIG letters. When Joe first joined the team, I forgot to ask what his surname was. Now I’m too scared to ask.

It's Oceans 11!

More like the Thomas Crown Affair.

Although I think this has the makings of a new F1 sanctioned XBOX 360 game, with prominent F1 drivers going under cover into the belly of the beast! Sort of like the thinking man's GTA :hehe:

Scary stuff, but at least it's nothing like Nico Rosberg's male escort order website.

An interesting way to waste away some hours of the day? I would quite literally rather nail my junk to the tree in my front yard than play some video game whose star is a fake persona of a mouthy racing driver who lies cheats and steals his way to the front.
