I've not really been keeping up and am not really sure that some of the changes suggested have actually been confirmed.

So as far as I know:

No refueling in the race, this also means that the final qualifying session is run on low fuel \o/

Tyres:
is there a minimum/maximum number of sets allowed for a race?
Do they have to use two different compounds during a race?
Do the top ten have to start the race on the tyres they used for final qualifying? (can tyres be changed during final qualifying?)

KERS:
Have all teams scrapped it? Is that a decision between the teams or has FIA scrapped it?

Points:
It had been changed to 25/20/15 for first 3 but then was suggested to be changed to 25/18/15?

Can anyone answer, correct, verify any of that or add anything else that's been changed. Thanks.

KERS was a gentlemans agreement between the teams.

No tyre warmers, and front tires are shorter in diameter.

I believe the brake discs are still the same size? have the teams therefore changed the material?

Shorter in diameter? Don't think so. They're skinnier by 25mm.

Yes, read somewhere they'll have 8 sets of tires for the weekend, down from 12?
First ten qualifiers will start on the tire set with which they set their fastest q3 time. Still need to use two compounds during the race, yes. Rain obviously changes all of the above.
Pretty sure they finalized the new scoring system (25/18/15) or will do so any day now.

So their smaller in the vertical plane (for a tire in its usual position)?

11 sets down from 14. 6 sets will be prime, 5 sets option and teams will only have 3 sets for Fridays instead of 4. I think the number of wet tyres is remaining the same, though.

Not sure what you mean. They are thinner in profile when you look at them mounted on the car viewed from the front.

Ah, good info!

Thanks all, anything else that's changed?

JT replaced MM - could become important during the season...

Yep. A reserve driver that is required to replace a race driver is allowed one testing day provided it's taken within 14 days either side of substitution. This driver must not have raced in a Formula One race in two calendar years and if they end up not being used then the team loses one of it's pre-season test days the following year.

The FIA won't be publishing the car weights after qualifying this year, so we won't find out which are the heaviest and which are the lightest.

Which would be interesting to know re. fuel consumption and strategy.

That won't really be relevant anyway, they'll be trying to be as close to the minimum allowed weight at the end of qualifying. And then they'll fill the cars right up for the race, unless that's what you're referring to, the race weight.

It'd give fuel consumption but not strategy.

Yet to be convinced about JT but at least MM is out.
