As has been stated elsewhere, the rumor mills are churning about Ferrari already designing a B spec car as their A version appeared to underperform in tests. Furthermore, it's well known that the Ferrari engine is quite thirsty. I have no doubt they will be able to get to the checkered flag, but this will be probably achieved with a higher fuel load (hence more weight) to carry around than most of their competitors. Their engineering and race teams also don't seem to be up to snuff talent-wise.
Now we all know that FA is worth 0.3 seconds a lap (or something like that), right? But will it be enough to make up for the above disadvantages? I have my doubts...

Back to the turbo days with the Ferrari always the one that seems to run dry :eek:

How can they already have a B spec car when there hasn't even been any decent testing yet? They must be judging their car on a 10 lap stint.

Well its clear we're not going to get any discussion out of this thread, at least reasoned ones.

edit - maybe I'm being unfair, none of us are going to know anything for certain. So there's very little to discuss.

It looked like McLaren was the dog at the start of last year and they got a bit desperate during testing but the Ferrari wasn't really much different once the season got underway, who's to say it won't be the other way round this year? I'll hold any judgement for the first few races.

I want to see four or five teams battling for the top spots this year though so don't want to see any of the teams that should be there to be struggling.

If the Ferrari has any shortcomings Alonso will probably be the best equipped to drive around any problems, he managed to do it with the R28, but the R29 was just so awful even if you put Ayrton Senna in the car he wouldn't be able to do much with it.

I am really not happy about ferrari's issues and what is being summised. The darn season hasn't even started. So I guess I will wait until racing starts. Ferrari has a history of making everybody believe one thing and then one of two things happen. they fall flat on their face or surprises everyone. I do hope its the latter. Like Vaptin said. there nothing really worth discussing unless you all you want to do is crap on Ferrari. I dont have a problem with that either.

If Ferrari do have fuel consumption issues, then Massa's aggressive driving style is hardly going to help matters...
