I have just recently got into playing Golf. I got some Golf clubs for Christmas and managed to get out to a driving range today to get a feel for each club and practice some shots. It went better than I thought and managed to get some pretty good distant shots with my irons, but the drivers were pretty hard to use - which is what everybody says anyway when you first use them.

Anybody else play Golf at all? :)

I played proper golf about once, was pretty cool. Problem is you don't play it from a young age, so you've got to put in a lot of effort to get decent enough to play which is kinda hard to find the time.

I have played golf before but I don't play it very often due to the fact that golf is probably the sport I am the worst at and it makes me frustrated. My uncle really likes it, though, and he travels all over the country just to play it. Good luck with your new hobby :)

I have never played a round but have been to several driving ranges and did quite well for a newbie my friends said.

The problem with golf, for me, is that it only becomes really fun after you get the hang of swinging the club properly, which can take time. It's one of those sports i'd like to play but don't really have the time to go and learn how to play it.

Starting to get better with my swing, I'm finding the drivers much easier to use and getting some good distance on my shots as well.

Think I'll book some lessons soon so I can perfect my technique and then join a club. I'm glad I went to the driving range yesterday because the snow has returned yet again with avengeance.

I used to play fairly regularly and was ok, nothing great but only played a couple of times a year over the past few years and not very good now. Quite good with the short irons and putting but usleless with the longer clubs so I'd often be better off thinking 'I can make it to the green in two' rather than going for it in one and ending up with the ball running a few feet along the ground and just getting frustrated. So I'll never be competitive but can go out and enjoy it.
