All the talk around here about it merits a thread.

Mine was Canada '92. I live in Canada, and they didn't cover races too much then. They might've only just started showing the whole season of races that year, I dunno.

Mansell and Senna tangled and they both were out. Mansell stomped over to Ron Dennis and said, "he calls himself a world champion? You saw what he did!" The camera got that. I later figured out that was normal behaviour/attitude for Mansell. Something about a formula 1 race drew me to it that is not there in CART or IRL. I can't put my finger on it, but I began watching regularly that day. I've missed only a handful over the years. I've been to the Canadian GP twice, 98 and 06. Both Candadian GPs in which a Canadian driver sucked that day. And You can't even get into his restaurant!

The first Grand Prix I watched was the 1988 British Grand Prix when it was raining, my Dad and uncle had gone to Silverstone, I watched it on the TV to see Mansell coming through the field well in the uncompetitive Williams Judd.

First Grand Prix I went to was the 1994 British grand prix when Damon Hill won from Pole position, Schumacher got black flagged and disqualified. :D

Silverstone 1979
Probably the best years' racing i've seen
1980-1983 were brilliant too, and 1986... from then on its been getting worse.

I don't remember the first race I saw on television, but the first race I visit was the French GP Magny-Cours in 1995. Schumacher won the race, Hill second. I was sitting on Enciente Golf. A very good place, you can see about 70% of the circuit.

thanks bud, yeah the place can get kinda boring at times when it comes to cruise destinations but we have the best racing circuit in the world, its a shame it recently had its first fatality ever when the V8's raced.

there is so much talk it might come back here after albert park expires in 2010

San Marino 1993 having been told how good Donnington was. I don't recall this race being that eventful, but after being shown the previous race on video I was hooked.

Wow! I really don't know. Maybe Aintree, or Monaco?
Believe it was after VonTripps.
The first one I remember (non f-1) is Clark getting second at Indy.
Other racing would be unlimited hydroplanes at Seafair about 1959.

Well, I remember bits of the 95 season on TV, but completely aware of what F1 was, as I was only 2 1/2 years old. First race I remember would be Jerez 97, I remember my dad saying Schumacher was a better driver, so I followed Schumi for that race... and the rest of his career :P
