Briatore's Lifetime Ban Is Overturned
Breaking News: A French court has overturned Flavio Briatore's lifetime ban from F1 and motorsport. The suspension was imposed after the Crashgate scandal but the former Renault boss has now been cleared to make a full report to the sport. Wowee...

Really? where'd you get these news, TV news?

wow that was a long lifetime ban....
i don't mind much that he's back; why ban him in the first place?? a 1 yr ban would have been much more reasonable and believeable... but whatever... hope he can find a nice place to bring his knowledge and spirit.

Interesting. I wonder if Symonds will follow suit?

I don't think a team will take Briatore on at present, but he might well choose to invest in his own team in the hope that one of the new teams (or Toro Rosso) withdraws at the end of the year.

Flavio will return as a driver manager but I seriously doubt that any team will have him as a Manager again unless he creates his own team which again I doubt as he had said before retirement was on his agenda in 2009 anyway.

Seems fair considering Piquet got off Scott free and he was at least as much, possibly more, to blame.

Wait, so after one of the biggest scandals in sporting history, where a team fixed a race. No one gets punished,

So the result is, Renault are still around, Alonso keeps his Trophy, Piquet can continue to drive, and Symonds & Briatore are free to seek employment. It's only a case of damaged images. No one has been punished. I think it's ridiculous.

Damaged images are sometimes the worse punishment possible.
