F1 is one of the most expensive sports if not the most expensive, yet we don't get any channels to view it in HD.
In 2009, there was theory's, rumours that Abu Dhabi would be broadcasting in HD as a sort of test bed for 2010 but nothing happend.

In 2010 we may see the first HD Season as the viewing rates which decreased dramatically when Schumacher was dominating F1, since he left the viewing rates have increased but at the end of 2008 season they jumped significantly and for 2009 they were even higher, the BBC in purchasing the rights in the UK made there move in perfect timing now to keep viewers and get even more viewers they need to go to HD, they have ALOT to gain from going HD.

I personally would be happy to pay money just to see the races in HD... but that's me. If the start of 2010 is not in HD then one race for sure which "should"/will be in HD will be the British Grand Prix.

Who else is looking forward to HD and who will be willing to get a petition going to get it in HD, if we start a petition now then maybe it will be all up and ready for 2010 (HD) if it isn't already setup

As far as I am aware, none of the races were broadcast in high-definition. I would like to see some high-definition broadcasts next year and then for every race from 2011 onwards. That would be awesome.

Just punning my tv :D . Yes HD transmission would be super yet the cost is still something I'm not ready to embrace.

Then you must have been upscaling it (Which is not true HD) because no HD broadcasts were available and as far as I'm aware F1 doesn't even shoot in HD yet, certainly not 100% HD anyway.

The BBC will be nagging Bernie all the way for HD. And if he wants to remain one of the top sports, he needs to be in HD next year, when the World Cup is likely to become one of the most highly viewed HD transmissions of all time. The Olympics are already talking about shooting in Ultra-HD come 2012.

I hope we get F1 in HD soon. That would be sweet. Personally, I'd kinda figure something as staggeringly expensive as F1 would have been going HD pretty early on. Sink enough money into it each year to buy up small nations but skimp on the video quality?

it doesn't cost as much as you think.... to broadcast HD.

Why make programs like Eastenders available in HD... pfft

F1 owns eastenders,,,

I would pay to watch an f1 race in hd but i would have to buy an hd receiver and subscribe to a higher level of service permanently and it's not worth it.
