With Button all but confimed at Mclaren, and Mercades not looking to spend alot.

Do we think we've seen the last of Kimi in a F1 car?

:(

Looks that way unfortunately. And who is to blame? Ferrari.

I suspect so, considering the high salary he's asking for. Yes agree, the party to blame for this, is none other than Ferrari. Pity, as he's quite a good driver.

I think blaming Ferrari can only go so far. He was the last of the big time salaries. Yeah Ferrari where paying it 3 yrs ago, but not sustainable in this economy.

You could say it was Kimi's fault because he did not take Macca's offer.. Maybe he had obligations to pay with the 50 million salary and just could not take a few million to cover.

Or take the money and run and be set for life..

Has there ever been a situation that a top5 drivers gets practically thrown out of the league with no seat?

I think that the nail has been hit on the head, Pay is not going to be as good a few years ago because of the credit crunch. I think Kimi and Jenson need to remember that £1 million pounds would take a 10 life time for someone who is on minimum wage to earn

I don't buy it. Ferrari exercised their option on his services for next year, then changed their minds last minute. It's their doing.

It all depends. If Button does go to McLaren, then Kimi is down and out. There won't really be anywhere the following year, since any contracts for the top teams will probably be for a few years.

But button would be stupid to go to McLaren. Lewis vs Button in a McLaren. Poor Jenson will look very bad, considering McLaren is a team built around Lewis. He would be better off at Brawn. I think it could all simply bargaining tactics. By making it look very much like Button will go to McLaren, Kimi is forced to bargan.

Kimi really needs to lower his value. Whatever happened to drivers not caring about money, and that it was all about racing.

I agree, Jenson would be better at Brawn. But Brawn doesn't exist any more, so the issue is, does he actually have the opportunity to drive for Mercedes

Duh, what a blow.

But Heidfeld to Mercedes is not a sure shot so there's a chance that Button remains in Mercedes and Kimi signs McLaren. At the moment we're talking like it's either Button or Kimi out.
