A new track in Prague, three miles from the centre. A street cikrcuit by Tilke. What do you think? Be a cool place to spend a few days and watch a race.

Prague is awesome, my dad had a job there recently and i stayed a couple of times - cheap flights there and everything else is cheap!!:thumbup:

I wonder why they can't use Brno? That's a nice circuit.

I think the modern Brno is a really boring track. The old one was brilliant but I think somewhat unsuitable for modern F1.

It seems that cities are taking to the idea of hosting F1 street races in their centers as a way of showcasing the city and promoting the country for tourists. This is a good thing imo as the great road races in motor -racing's history were all organised for exactly this reason. This is far more in keeping with the traditions of grand prix racing and European style circuit racing than the building of bespoke racing venues. That practice was a last resort for the British who built Brooklands because racing on the road was outlawed. The hosting of F1 on purpose built circuits was not particularly popular until the mid 1960s and at the time, most of the drivers found the new circuits to be less interesting than the traditional airfield, closed road, street and parkland circuits.

I'm not opposed to street circuits in general, as there are some that I like (Monaco and Long Beach come to mind), I'm not thrilled about another Tilke street circuit.

I agree. I think the reason Tilke street circuits suck is because they're not 'true' street circuits. They feel like a permanent track, only in a city.

No! No,no,no,no,no! :nono:

No more street circuits please.

And no more Tilke Circuits please!

Which legendary track are we going to lose now in order to cater for this Grand Prix?

Actually, I can answer that:

Spa! :hehe:
