F1live:
Medical tests overseen by the FIA have shown that Felipe Massa's eyesight will not delay his return to Formula One.

Ferrari confirmed after a first series of tests at Paris' Pitie Salpetriere hospital that the 28-year-old, seriously injured in a Budapest qualifying crash last July, has "recovered the functions of his left eye by 100%".

The neurological and ophthalmological exams precede Massa's return to the wheel of a Formula One car, with a two-year-old F2007 with GP2-spec tyres, probably on Monday at the Fiorano test track, depending on the weather.

After "positive" outcomes from the first FIA tests, Massa is due to continue the medical exams on Saturday afternoon.

It will really be good to have this very great and mighty prestegous driver that Massa is, back in F1 ( hint hint anna ).
maybe a premature question DD, you think he might insist to drive in brasil if he feels up to it ??

From BBC sport...

"My dream would be to be at Abu Dhabi, but the chances of this happening are very, very low," he said.

"My hope is to come back soon, although I know the ideal thing is to return 100% at the start of next season."

After ruling out a return at the Brazilian Grand Prix, a race he won last year, Massa will instead wave the chequered flag at Interlagos alongside football legend Pele and supermodel Gisele Bundchen on 18 October.

He should use the winter break to get back in shape (make sure you don't forget your bum! :cloud9: ), maybe do some racing in other series, and then come back rejuvenated.

Is there a rule that requires a certain level of eyesight in F1?
Maybe Bourdais didn't do so well because he needs glasses. :hehe:

this was before he done his fitness test and whatever other tests. according to the post this thread is about he appears to be in a much better condition and i wont be surprised if he will want to try his luck and use brazil as a test run

He's presisitantly been determined to get back into f1 mentally, and keeps on getting good medical news.

It's good to learn that Massa is on the mend, but I still don't see why he should rush back for the last race of the season.

with fisi not really settling into massa's car I dont see why he should not use the last two races as practice sessions at all. he really has nothing to lose if he feels he can do it.

This is Massa himself saying the chances are not good that he will be fit for the final race, any talk of him driving in Brazil is therefore pointless.
