Nick: "In Formula One every Grand Prix is a job application."

Guess NP and SB flunked their résumés :hehe:

Who can we see hiring Nick Heidfeld for next year then? If Rubens retires, I could almost see him at Brawn, but they might opt to take in a young gun instead.

Williams in place of Nakajima or whatever Sauber become if they get bought. I really wish there were more options for him :(

Never before have there been so many seats, yet so few options for some of the drivers.

Williams is clearly the obvious first move for Heidfeld, if BMW fail to find a buyer.

I mean, Heidfeld won't go to McLaren (other better drivers on offer for McMerc), won't go to Renault, since the only seat will be if Alonso goes, and its pretty likely Kubica could end up there. Brawn, are a slight chance. But slight being the slight chance that Rubens actually does leave and that Brawn don't get a better offer from another driver.

Heidfeld has drove for Williams before and contacts tend to be everything in F1.

But I get the feeling that BMW will eventually sort something out, and Heidfeld and Kubica will remain team mates next year. I mean, the BMW sauber team is full of talented guys capable of a creating a race winning car. It'd be a tragedy to see them all made redundant.

Even if BMW find a buyer for the team, which is unlikely now, there is no guarantee that the former BMW Sauber team will be on the grid next season as it will be subject to the same selection process as the three new teams for the 13th grid slot, so will be in competition with the likes of Pro-Drive etc. I believe that Toro Rosso that has to be sold next season for competition reasons will be a better buy for most as they have a guaranteed entry into the 2010 championship!

I'd like to see Nick return to Williams, he gelled very well with the team and got his only pole position to date with them. If he returned, he could go one better if the FW32 is competitive again next season. :)

even if BMW falls apart there is 3 teams looking for talented people

Yeah, but at least two of those will want cheap talented people

Seems like HK needs to polish his résumé as well:

With his two-year contract nearing its end, McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh has made clear the Finn must achieve better results if he wants to keep his place in the team next season.

I thought they were in love with him? There goes that idea I guess.

Newsflash: love goes only that far :P

He's always seemed underrated to me. I'd like to see him land a seat with a major player and watch how it plays out.

He could be past his prime though.
