I'm in negotiation's with someone on the purchase of their T70 turbocharger in preparation of a 3SGTE engine buildup. I'm going to be looking for a used longblock eventually to totally teardown and build a hp monster. This is a project that will most likely take a few years but I will do all the work myself accept for the fabrication of the intake & exhuast manifold and things I cannot do. Knowing alot of Toyota tech's will be my advantage. I will be looking for somewhere in the hp range of 600-700rwhp and fully street legal.

Dont say impossible on the hp numbers either as there are now a few 3SGTE's putting down 1000+rwhp. I'll get some pic's up when possible.

ps,
This is what I'm invisioning at the moment if I drop it into a Miata:

Well it turn's out that the turbo has a T3 turbine and I want a full T4 turbo, compressor and turbine, so I passed on it. Probably best anyway as I'm having trouble locating a 3SGTE engine locally and with school starting in a few week's I'll have my hand's full.

Keeping the dream alive,

I'm kinda looking at this 72K mile '91 NSX at the moment and researching interest rates and monthly payment's. If I can get an extended loan with an interest rate and monthly payments that match what I am paying at the moment I'm gonna try to buy it this next week. Chances are that it will not happen but atleast I tried. :D

You are correct and I remember almost wrecking my AE86 the first time I saw one when they came out. I'm a Ferrari fan but I will notice an NSX just as much if not more than a Ferrari, the NSX is a masterpiece. The one I'm looking at is a one owner vehiclel and only $19K. I'm gonna go test drive it tomorrow after our local car meet just for the fun of it.

Thanks for the positive reply,
tex

What is your local meet? I'm involved with some maxima guys here and Dallas & Houston. We have some regular once-a-year meets. Nothing special, just talking about mods, etc.

Good luck on the test drive...

Spoke with my credit union and it's a no go which is probably best. Look's like I will have to wait another year and a half and payoff my 4Runner before I can get into an NSX, oh well it was fun thinking about it. :(:hehe:

I still say get 20 metros.

Those NSXs are awesome, but don't get in a fender bender with that aluminum body. Not that you didn't know that, knowing all you do about Ferraris.

Not to hijack but I too am in the middle of negotiations over 3 possible 07 Impala SSs.

The local meet I attend is held on the first sat of each month and is called 'Cars & Coffee'. I went yesterday and it was huge yet I forgot my digi camera so I only took a few cell pic's. The cars that showup range from old american rat rods to exotic's. Here are a few pic's I took but I will post up more, also is a pic of the NSX I looked at but could not test drive it as it was buried in a sea of other car's. It was not a targa and has some minor interior detail's so that is why it's so inexpensive. I sat in it and it was almost like sitting in my old '92 MR2T as it was very comfortable and all the control's fell into place naturaly, I will have one within the next few years I promise.

Come up here and buy a 328 GTS. The local Pontiac Buick GMC dealer, which is not getting dumped BTW, has one in the little hexagonal building that houses the used car sales desks. It's been in there under a car cover for 12 years. It belongs to Mike Boyer, the dealer's owner. He bought it for himself 15 years ago and parked it in there 3 years later. I don't know the exact year but you would know the years the 328 was made. Funny I never noticed it the few times I went in there over the years. Some people have made offers over the years, it is purported to be for sale, but apparently not at a fire sale price.

I actually would rather have the NSX for it's daily driveability, reliability and they look better to me. When I drove my friend's 308GTB last year I never really got used to the strange gear pattern and when I sat in the NSX yesterday it just felt 'proper'.
