I would like to openly express my sincere apology to the forum, it's members and especially to Selcouth_Feline and the rest of the 'team'. I take full responsibilty for my action's and I regret them, mostly because everyone here put's up with my antic's. I was layed off work yesterday and took out my anger on one of my 'boss's' and on top of that everyone else had to endure my immature actions.

I feel that everyone here is my friend but I was not being one to them. So thank you EVERYONE for enduring me on a daily basis.

I obviously missed something. I don't lurk all the sections here. I like to think whatever Gregg says I understand it the way he meant it. He's tops with me.

Ah, ok. You Brits :hehe:
At least unemployment benefits are not as bad as in the US, are they?

I think it is about £80 for 2 weeks IIRC

For how long though?

I'm not sure on the length that you can claim for, but you have to visit the Job Centre every week and be able to prove that you're applying for jobs and attending interviews, etc.

I get laid off all the time. I'm a union electrician, in the construction sector, commercial industrial. You fellow North Americans may have heard of the IBEW.
I'm in the Toronto local. You do a job and when they have too many guys they lay off all the excess, so my jobs can last anywhere from 2 days to years. Usually it's several months. If I have enough hours to qualify, You get 60% of your work pay to a maximum. I get the maximum E.I.(employment insurance) which is IIRC $448/week CDN, from which they strip about $70 for income tax, and I usually qualify for about 20 weeks. IIRC the max weeks is 26 now. My local also pays $125/week of S.U.B., but the number of weeks I get depends on how many weeks I haven't used in the previous year so it usually runs out quickly. I've had a claim or two in almost every year since 1987. Some years, including this one, there's no work so the wait is long enough to run out of E.I. I spent the entire first 7 months of this year unemployed. However I did get on as a tech with the Provincial govt power generating(nuclear). so I think I'm pretty set.
