I can imagine the uproar now, lol. People are still worried about the LHC which will NOT destroy the world.

don't be backward. - this is FAR FAR less dangrous than a nucular power plant (and cleaner) not to mention the LHC.

If this thing works which its getting closer and closer to doing free electricty, no more global warming.

i imagine you'd see an upsurge in electric cars too.

Yeh i know what you mean, but if they did it properly they'd be better than an normal car.

Electric motors can accelerate far faster than a petrol engine.

so performace wise they'd be great.

But with cheap electricity they'd have a reason to do it properly, thats the only reason theres no development into it now really because there just not practical

How about a 4WD electric car with a 600bhp motor at each wheel?!

It would maybe be cheap where you live, But in the UK the government would find a way to hike up the prices to recover the lost revenue it makes on petrol and oil. Either way we would end up being shafted by it so its no great invention for us, me personally i would rather listen to my turbo spool up and my car accelerate through the gears anyday than listen to a bloody hairdryer lol

Yeh not going to argue with you about the sound of electric motors.

Prob sound like a supercharger to be fair so not that bad but no V8 - V12

But if somone said to me ok, you can either pay £200 /year Road Tax + £80 Month Petrol + Moto and Servicing costs of £100-200 a year or

You can drive for free and just pay insurance and cheap servicing i know what i'd choose.

Not everyone can understand it. Thats fair enough though I guess. People always fear what they don't understand.

yup and you didnt read what i wrote, in the UK we "wont" get it for free, just think of the loss of revenue the government is going to take if this happens, they will need to make up this revenue somehow and guess whats going to fill the void :)
