So folks?

Do we think Mr. Ari Rally is going to defeat Todt in the race to the presidents chair?

I think not. I would imagine that Max will work his political magic and secure things for Todt before the vote.

Who would you like to see in and why?

ouy of the limited choices i'll take ari. but the f1 side of the fia, should be a group run thing. 1 lead chair w/3 sub chairs. let's say ari, paul stottard, jys, lauda and eiyher ron dennis or damon hill.all these guys would be great caretakers of the well being of the sport/fans. burt.

Interesting idea Burt but it won't happen. A better solution would be to have all 13 team principles on a board that Ari Vatanen/Jean Todt heads. Or another idea would be to have a representative from each Grand Prix on the current calendar with the FIA president heading the group!

hey kansas, boy don't i know it won't. the only prob. w/gp track owners/promoters is the would tend to feather their own beds. that's the rule now w/bernie/max in bed together for their own good, instead of the well being of the sport. burt.

Todt will get it - IF Max Mosely actually goes.

I think it's important that the FIA and the Teams remain totally separate. This would be a key ingredient of the transparency I know I would like to see. If the FIA reorganized the senate and the elected reps were actually members of the different teams, it would become much more feudal I think. I mean, it's bad enough as it is now.

Anyway my vote is for Todt, not many people like him so he gets my vote. I think Luca and him have some unresolved issues so it's no wonder Ferrari are not so keen to see him in charge.

While it makes sense for the teams to band together (al la FOTA) when a crisis emerges, I really don't like them being all buddy buddy.

And let's face it. They are not doing it for us fans, there all in it for themselves. No matter what the PR departments say.

Therefore, have at it. :blaster:

Now that Todt is officially seperated from Ferrari he may be a good choice but I also have my reservations, my choice aswell would be Ari.

I've badmouthed Todt from the moment he said he wanted to run for the presidency, but having read through his intentions, I'd be willing to give the man a chance. He's basically aiming to give us all the things we want, according to his manifesto.

Mosley had a wonderfully pleasing manifesto when he was running to be president of FISA, and, from what I read, Balestre did as well.

I'd rather Ari get the presidency. Todt is still just as slimy a Toad as Mad Max.

Let's face it; the word presidency has politics written all over it and we all know that politicians lie to get into power so I expect this election to be no different.

But I would rather have Vatanen over Todt because he will be a neutral party (as far as F1 is concerned) being a rally man. Todt has far too much past involvement in F1.

Surely some experience of F1 would be beneficial, no?
