Heart broken. As allot of guys on here know he is my favorite driver since his debut in Sauber, he a true lovely nice guy who is always smiling and is a top class driver that is a true sportsman! He has accepted allot and has done a fantastic job in F1!!! I cannot wait for him to get back in the car. I hope his eye gets better and i hope his wife is smiling right now!

I was absolutely gutted, as I'm sure all F1 fans were - regardless of whether they support him or not. Fortunately he's still with us, following a "life-saving" operation - and hopefully, despite the press getting the wrong end of the stick this evening, he'll be able to race again. We'll know more when, and if, he opens his left eye - fingers crossed.

Get well soon Felipe. :)

I hope we will see him on the track again as soon as possible.

Well I think everyone is sad about it. It's a serious accident, and everyone realizes that.

But as many of you know, I've been a Massa supporter basically since I started watching F1. I've supported the guy through thick and thin, so really, it's devastating to see anyone in that condition, not least Felipe.

A very strange thread.....anyone who is not 'sad' should not be allowed out on their own.

Yeah, better title "Who isn't sad..."

It seem's Felipe also sustained a serious injury to his left eye so this makes his comeback, if any, an even bigger hurdle. I'm very sad about this whole ordeal and my thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and all of his fans. :(

Fortunately, for Massa, the mainstream press have the story all wrong, having mistaken the words of one of his doctors. My sources and Autosport have been quick to point out that Felipe has yet to open his left eye - completely normal given the trauma, and subsequent swelling, to the area.

As of now, no one knows whether Massa's eye has been damaged, with his medical team stating that, due to his current condition, his 'vision cannot be examined'. He may still make a full recovery. :)
