London to Glasgow is a very long drive, I'd probably say 6 hours (not done it myself before :P), best way to do it is to take the M1 and then join the M6.

London to Glasgow is quite simple. As 7up said, the best way is to go onto the M1 and then join the M6 which interlinks with the m74 all the way to Glasgow.

The motorways are alright, they will be busy, but most major roads are.

Having done the journey quite a number of time i'd say it takes about 8 hours with stops.

The roads are pretty good - it's certainly do-able. But you might be better off catching a train - much more civilised and faster too!

:hehe: No, but I drove down to Cornwall from London and back the other week - 5 hours each way - which gave me a new appreciation for the benefits of rail travel!

I do agree, the Motorways can be clogged, the service stations ageing, but the only problem with the train is that is restricts some of your freedoms. :cloud9:

And well I did manage my trip this weekend without dying...

I still think your working for Branson, what with the Brawn pic :hehe:

Why Glasgow?

As an F1 fan I would say maybe do a trip around all the silverstone area teams HQ for a drive by. Brawn is a nice sight. renault is a bit boring (can not see much of it). Super Aguri was one of the friendliest to turn up to.

if you are going to glasgow it would not be that far out of the way
