I just wanted to talk about if the Breakaway happens, what would it look like? As a fan what would you like to see.

Name - Pinnacle Racing Series??
Governance - Manufacturer/Current Teams, former F1 notable laureates?
Regulations - go back and start at the 2008 car with slicks
Venues - two in the US. I hear the Gold Coast wants as shot..

I would like to see more marketing.. Lunch boxes and action figures.. :hehe:

From the point of view of aesthetics I'd like to see 2008 regs back (with slicks as you suggested) because today's cars are fugly. But in the name of cost savings, it would be prudent to not change the regs again, at least not substantially...

Name - hmmm ifGrand Prix is allowed then maybe Grand Prix World Championship

Im sure Ferrari and especially McLaren would welcome the 2008 regs back :hehe:

Gold Coast track is boring, the location is good but for a challenging track Adelaide hopefully will make a bid. though i highly doubt it unless they tie it in with the Clipsal 500 V8Supercar race someway.

Yes the cars are hideous looking this year. Since they already have the 2008 designed, I was thinking just take it off the shelf and add slicks to it. It might not cost that much to modify the car for slicks. But I don't know if they would go through with what they planned for 2010. No refueling and no tire warmers, which I think is stupid. Tire warmers aren't gonna break the bank with cost. I think its more dangerous to send cars out on cold tires. I don't have all the facts, but coming out of the pits would be like having a bunch of rolling chicanes on track in my opinion.

I think there were to many changes in the regs that the FIA, (Max) was imposing that lead to our current situation.

If they leave the cars the same then at least change the high rooster tail rear wing. I am cool with reducing the width of the front tire to get the car more balanced.

Maybe your right DD, just use the specification now and develop it for next year...

I thought the same thing bud. But then I though what could name it if that was not an option. If BE sides with FOTA they can keep the name F1. Problem with that is CVC will still be in the picture with all that debt..

V8Supercar is awesome!!

love v8's. Go Lowndes
I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of countrys get 2 GP's. But not under the same name. One as the united states GP (for eg) and the other as the American or Alantic GP or something along those lines

It should be called the Formula 1 World Championship. Not possible I hear you say?

But presumably it is CVC that owns the rights to the name, not BE personally? As said, CVC is saddled with all that debt. Now, without the FOTA teams, surely no one can tell me that F1 can remain a viable operation? I can't see any of the new teams coming into an F1 without the FOTA teams; they wouldn't get the backing anyway.

With no income stream, CVC would presumably go under, and the so the liquidator could sell off the name to the highest bidder (FOTA?). Simple!

Oh yes, and that probably means F1 would default on its existing contracts with tracks, teams etc, which would soon leave the existing tracks free to sign up with FOTA, and presumably even for Williams and Force India to do the same...
