I'm moving this to a new thread as it deserves it...

This is crazy. I do wonder whether it's the final roll of the political dice in this battle, but i doubt it! :yikes:

I'm giddy with perverse joy. :D
Wonder if any of the new teams will be able to line up sponsors if the FOTA teams arent racing??? Kinda sucks for USF1.
I also wonder if Toyota and Merc will pull the rug out from under Williams and Force India, making F1 esentially a Cosworth spec series? I assume Nico won't be re-signing with Williams.
How's bernie/CVC going to be able to stay afloat without the FOTA teams?
There's tons of questions and things are uncertain, but I'm feeling very optimistic about it.
Go FOTA!!!

I look forward to seeing Montreal and maybe a US race live finally!!!

I cant believe this though :eek::eek: It would be cool if they went the Can-Am route, anything goes.

Yeah, like the old days with full active suspensions, no aerodynamic, or engine restrictions either.
Just build the fastest safest car possible and drive it like you stole it.
That's Formula 1!!!

Can't really say I'm shocked, but its sad to see teams with such a history of participation leaving F1. I feel FIA should of agreed to any and all demands FOTA laid out so they would stay. I think this will be a bigger loss for the FIA than the FOTA teams. Hopefully an American TV network will pick up the new series so I can enjoy that instead of having to suffer through 2nd class F1.

Speed Channels coverage of F1 is awesome, though as far as the rest of their line up I could do very well without as much NASCAR programming. All in all I have nothing against Speed. My comment was more so directed at F1 having a watered down lineup of teams and drivers with the FOTA teams making up the better part of F1. Who wants to watch Force India race USF1 when you could be watching Ferrari against Merc, BMW and Brawn. To clear it up, I hope the FOTA series gets an American TV deal so I'll be able to watch that.

I am curious as to what could be the new name for the new championship?

(Assuming Bernie owns the F1 name) Is there a possibility that BE might side with FOTA later for the great potential for revenue?
