Di Montizemolo, Ferrari and FOTA will win out in this battle because the FIA have shown their hand by putting back the deadline yet again for the FOTA teams to enter the 2010 championship unconditionally. I still don't believe that FOTA have the right to be dictating rules but they called the FIA bluff and they have won the battle in my opinion. It seems the FIA had no intention of leaving the 8 FOTA teams out of the 2010 championship. FIA = No Credibility!

TBH i am finding some of it intresting, seems to be a battle of who has the most wit and the biggest balls, I cant wait to see the final outcome or who crumbles first!

The FIA will be running a carnival show without the manufacturers. Max realises that but I don't think he will back down on this. He would rather destroy F1 to keep his ego and pride intact. That being said a budget cap needs to be implemented no matter what the teams think. F1 is way to expensive for very little return. Hopefully comprimise can be reached

I think 8-ball is exactly right. This has turned personal and Max and Bernie will not back down. Bernie will do everything in his power to litigate a breakaway series, but it has to be done--the dictator must be stopped now. One season without F1 or a one season joke will be worth it if Max and Bernie leave. Kudos to FOTA.

I dont think that Bernie should leave as he has made the sport what it is. Not too sure about Max on the other hand. But I feel Bernie does need to look at the sport and see what he is doing to it

dirty trick of the FIA to put Ferrari down as unconditional.

good to see them not taking it as the chance to back down and standing firm

It's not really a dirty trick, seeing as Ferrari, Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso, Williams and Force India are all contractually obliged to enter the season.

For very little return?
F1 is a hotbed for development, a playground for research and design - that's value. Plus how can you put (or ignore to put) a value on exposure, PR, TV time that your company is seen worldwide by a billion people?
