Six German states have told retailers to stop selling Red Bull Cola energy drinks after a test found a trace amount of cocaine.

The bans started on Friday after a sample test conducted by authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia state found 0.4 micrograms per litre in the drink.

Five other states also banned it from shops amid concerns over possible narcotics law violations.

Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment said on Monday that the cocaine level was too low to pose a health risk. It planned to produce a more detailed report on Wednesday.

Red Bull said its cola is "harmless and marketable in both the US and Europe".

It said similar coca leaf extracts are used worldwide as flavouring, and a test it commissioned itself found no cocaine traces.

There's still cocaine in Coca-Cola, this is hardly news Germany

Also, Red Bull Cola is not an energy drink.

Coca extract is very common in south america (specially Peru and Bolivia). It is NOT cocaine.
So the concentration we're taliking about is it ppm of Coca extract or ppm of Cocaine? they are not the same.

They have a Coca tea (with the little tea bag and all) and it is pretty much like any other tea, or coffee... i have tried it and it is even softer than coffee. They also chew on Coca leaves... something simmilar to chewing tobacco or a mint leaf.

i wonder when it will be sold in Australia... with this press i wonder if it will now :banghead: is it similar to your average Cola?

Eh sort of. The USP is that it's "all-natural". DO you guys have those freezepop/ice pole things? It tastes like a less pleasant version of the cola one.
