Wanted to share with everyone that I will soon be making my first offshore trip sometime soon with a new fishing buddy. I have not been offshore persay since '90 when the company I worked for got us on a party boat but that was not true offshore fishing. Since I work at Bass Pro I meet alot of people with all the goodies and this one customer the other day was telling me about last weekends trip. He said they were fishing somewhere out of Gorda and were constantly being spooled and breaking rods by most likely HUGE groupers or yellowfin but hauled in a very respectable limit of snapper and grouper and yellowfin. So I took the op to let him know I have nobody to fish with offshore and he was gracious enough to envite me on the next trip. He said he is waiting for the waves to calm to between 1-2ft and the notice will be quick.
Anywho I'm pumped about this trip and thought I would share my excitement with everyone. I'm gonna drop-off the Penn 6/0 and have it worked over and new drag washers installed. Looking forward too being spooled !!!!
tex
PS,
I cannot remember the brand of his boat but it is a 33ft center console w/dual 200HP Mercs or something like that. I'll make sure I have plenty of pics/video's to share.
