Doubt it, Brawn can run really small sidepods cause they don't need to cool the KERS, plus they aren't actually anything to do with each other unlike Force India relationship. Brawn just use Merc engines...

Yes but McLaren would still have had a say on if they could use the Merc engines or not. Norbert didnt go out on his own to offer them the engine. Why do you think there is a lack of Mercedes logo's on the Brawn and Force inda? its to protect the Mercedes link with McLaren. But i doubt Brawn would want to help McLaren out in such a way as given their resources they are a rival to be wary of.
besides chucking on a new diffuser isnt going to answer all of McLarens woes. its only part of the problem.

I thought this whole 'diffuser debate' was already being discussed on several other threads??

You're the mod, merge the threads then!

is it McLaren or Mercedes' KERS system?

much the same, both worked on it but if you need a label i think it would be McLaren.

I'd say it would be a possible option for next season.

Its the best KERS system out there.

But i don't think Brawns assed about it now.

Yeah, i know Brawn has said they aren't using KERS til next season. It's odd actually, cause i'm sure the word midway through last season was that Honda were furthest along the development of it...?

The Honda KERS system was rumoured to be really good. I'm still interested by the Williams one. I think it should be the best once it's brought in, as well as the most relaible, in all likelihood. There won't be any smoke clouds like Ferrari's kicks out. :P

But Brawn decided against using it because of the lack of testing and development time, apparently. And if they wanted to cool it, they'd need larger sidepod openings. Having the Mercedes engine in the back means that they could make those openings smaller still, albeit probably only marginally. At least, that's what the word on the street is...

That's correct, but Honda Motor Company retained the rights to that technology and its not compatible with the Mercedes Powerplant anyway.

As it stands, I think Brawn can do quite happily without KERS, it's not doing anyone else any favours really and Brawn's sidepod designs are predicated on not having KERS - they have even smaller ones coming.

Jenson Button must have known he was walking a fine line with the diffuser after all it isn a level playing field so to speak and is obviously giving him the edge against mclaren/Hamilton team who are better drivers.

Its like 2 guys having a street race with one of the drivers having a bigger engine its nothing to do with driver skills its down to a dubious device fitted to the back of a car to give you the edge.I think Jenson would have been more honest if he had proposed the new technology then waited for the go ahead from F1 rather than cheating other drivers :nono:

Its not been a fair race and kind of invalidates the fairnes of a previous race wins.
