Alonso linked on an almost weekly basis
to a possible future Ferrari move

As far as Italian sports fans are concerned, Ferrari made the right choice in signing Fernando Alonso for the future.

Speculation suggests that the Spaniard has inked a deal to move to the Maranello team either in 2011 or (depending on Kimi Raikkonen) even next year.

A survey conducted by La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the 27-year-old is the driver most Italian fans want Ferrari to put into a red car.

Alonso captured nearly 42 percent of the total vote, ahead of Robert Kubica (24.6%), Felipe Massa (16.8%) and Kimi Raikkonen (8.9%).

Of the five drivers cited, Lewis Hamilton netted the lowest percentage of the vote, with 8.2 percent.

No wonder such a low approval rate for Hamilton. They certainly know a cheat when they see one!:wink:

Being Italian... and that... you get the joke...?

You're breaking the Michael Schumacher haters hearts, they thought you'd joined them.

The results are unsurprising really. Hamilton, even though he's out for himself, will be tainted having driven for McLaren for starters. I think it's pretty certain Alonso has a Ferrari contract sitting in his house.

I was actually quite impressed by Alonso last year talking to his team on the radio, trying different setups, giving feedback on tyres and generally trying to give some leadership when setting up the car.

He will be very exciting in the Ferrari.

I have to admit I lost all respect for Kimi when he spun in the wet last year, can't remember the race, it's when him and hamilton where going head to head and hamilton got in trouble for the passing manouver.

As Kimi spun I heard him scream like a girl.

I think Kimi has loads of ability but he seems bored...

Massa is too much of a douchebag, no personality...

Alonso and Kubica feels right doesn't it?

If I had to pick two drivers that are my favorites...it would be those two. If I had to pick one team that is my favorite....it would not be red. :hehe:

Still, I understand why drivers want to drive there...so I would respect the team. I like Kimi and have warmed considerably to Massa after he took defeat like a man last year. The press conference after Brazil should be a video tape every team forces their brand new drivers to watch....it was the epitome of sportsmanship and it changed my opinion of Massa. If the World Champion of last year had half the character shown by Massa that day, he would have a LOT more fans.

Yep. Michael drove for the red cars for many years , so they're well versed on that.

Also. Lewis just beat them :hehe:

why would ya wanna join a team that im turmoil

The Ferrari team are not in turmoil. They are making mistakes just like every team has made because they lacking the key people that gave them so much success.

I think Alonso driving for the team would go some way to remedying that situation but the unknown factor is how will he cope not being the number 1 driver. There is no way Massa is playing second fiddle to Alonso and we all know that in a situation like that Alonso starts to crack

As a Ferrari tifosa I would prefer Vettel over all those drivers. Then after that Alonso, Kubica, Massa and KImi. I wouldn't want Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.

By the way, Ferrari screwed up the first 3 races of 2003. Then in the 4th race at San Marino Imola eventually Michael Schumacher just beats McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen. SO after a very bad start, Ferrari still won both drivers and constructors championships in 2003. Looked like Ferrari were in turmoil then as well but turned it around. They will do it again in 2009, or at least be competitive and then win titles again in 2010. Also note that in 2005 Ferrari also had a miserable season. Then they turned it around in 2006 and almost won both titles but ended up winning everything in 2007. All great teams have their ups and downs. All great teams succeed in the end. Ferrari is the type of team so they will succeed. Fact.

No more than pretty much all champions for getting into some controversial thing, at one time or another.

I'll eat my hat the day that Hamilton gets a Ferrari contract over Alonso though, it's inevitable that Alonso's going in sooner or later, and it's probably sooner.

That being said, Alonso just fits in so well in Renault, it's almost like Schumacher and Ferrari back in the mid-90's. Same energy.

Let's face it there though. Raikkonen and Massa are no way near the class of Schumacher.
